I had the pleasure of coming on board Canon Australia's new in-house Digital Team to assist them in designing their new responsive brand site.

To ensure better touchpoint for both Businesses to Consumer and Business to Business, new UX was crafted from the ground up in order to provide better product support, share inspirational stories and expose Canon Collective events.

Creating a spacious place to showcase Canon’s rich content.

For the look and feel of the new website, it was important that we capture Canon’s presence as a leader in creativity and technology. I went for a clean and sophisticated look and feel by using carefully designed alignment and neutral colours to frame content and bring in a sense of layering to create contrast and hierarchy.

Flexible components that's easy to update and customise.

As always, content is the king, and with so many different types of content to be mindful of, we created a series of components so that the website can be fully customisable while maintaining consistency throughout. 

There are essentially three types of component types. Hero banners, product cards, and content tiles. Each of these components can further be developed into several variations.

Capturing the different persona behind each camera.

Canon offers a wide range of Cameras for a wide range of people. In order to give the consumers an immediate understanding of which products are suitable for them, it was important we first understand the personas behind each Camera.

Working closely with Canon staff, we fleshed out the different types of personas for each Camera and used the insight we gathered to create a new series of persona-driven photography. The end result gave each product a distinct story as well as a template for the upcoming products.

Bringing components together to create the final designs for each page. 

Bring Canon Collective Events closer to the people.

Explore is a new section on the brand site where Canon can connect with their audience by sharing inspirational stories, photography lessons, and most important of all: Canon Collective events.

Canon Collective events is a great way for people to participate in photography lessons with Canon Ambassadors, a lot of this are free and are generally booked out very quickly. As a result, the booking process, the notification EDM were all redesigned to improve the user journey.

Improving the support journey for the consumers.

The new support journey improves on the previous user experience by helping them filter down to what they are after quickly, as well as providing more support content at the right level for users to access.
